About AUDREY NUNA:
Audrey Nuna revels in the space between extremes, and it empowers her as a sonic curator, lyrical tastemaker, and musical disruptor. Maybe it was due to her childhood. She spoke English at school, but exclusively conversed with most of her family in Korean. She took piano lessons, listened to Lee Sun Hee and Yeezus, performed in children’s choirs, did Kendo, watched everything from La Haine to Akira, made magazines in her bedroom, and recorded music in Garage Band. So, she writes songs without filter, sings with raw confidence, spits bars with no apologies, and even serves as co-director and producer of her music videos and a co-creative director for the entire aesthetic. Musically, she’s just as comfortable slipping into an angelically melancholic croon over sparse piano as she is bodying an 808-laden beat. Following a year at NYU, she started to upload music online, dropped out of school, moved into an apartment, and drummed up buzz. In 2019, “Soufflé” caught the attention of ARISTA who signed her. Receiving widespread acclaim from Vogue, Nylon, DIY, and PAPER who promised “‘damn Right’ You’ll Love Audrey Nuna” and posting up 30 million-plus streams, she welcomed everyone into the most wonderful kind of equilibrium on her full-length debut, a liquid breakfast in 2021. Now, with a new body of work in the works, including her new single "locket," and a high profile tour with fellow trailblazer Ashnikko underway, Audrey Nuna marks a new and captivating chapter, undeniably poised for stardom.
